Amy Fee for Waterloo Catholic District School Board (Kitchener/Wilmot Trustee)
Amy has been an advocate of helping children reach their full potential dating back to her own childhood. She grew up the youngest daughter of a teacher, watching her Mother fight tirelessly against the challenges associated with increasing demands and decreasing resources.
Amy has worked as a Broadcast News Anchor and Sports Reporter in various cities across Canada. Both Amy and her husband have benefited greatly from a Catholic education. She is proud that her four kids will get to follow in their parents’ footsteps.
As a Waterloo Catholic District School Board Trustee, Amy will:
• Work to improve communication between parents, staff and the school board.
• Be an advocate for all students, including those with special needs.
• Continue to build on the WCDSB’s welcoming and inclusive environment.
Excerpts from Amy’s Better Choices Questionnaire
“I believe it is essential for our children’s futures that the Board of Trustees have a close relationship with not just teachers, but all employees and contracted workers. If elected for a first term as a Waterloo Catholic District School Board Trustee, I will work hard towards ensuring teachers and staff feel they are being listened to and supported by the Board of Trustees.”
“I am a strong supporter of children with special needs. I have close relationships with many families who have children with various needs. They all have one thing in common – making sure their child/ren are educated in an inclusive environment – with the proper supports to ensure that can happen. I believe the Waterloo Catholic District School Board is doing an excellent job with special education, but parents need to be more involved in the decision-making at a school level. I will make protecting special education funding a top priority.”
